Release of foreign exchange for travel on health ground
The limit of 10,000 US dollar or equivalent for treatment abroad is relaxed for persons injured in the Students-People’s uprising - July 2024 Revolution. Authorized Dealers may release foreign exchange based on estimation for these individuals. Transactions may be conducted through banking channels or international card channels.

FE Circular No. 37 Date: December 31, 2024 All Authorized Dealers in Foreign Exchange in Bangladesh Dear Sir, Release of foreign exchange for travel on health ground Please refer to paragraph 2, chapter 12 of the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions-2018, Vol-1 (GFET) in terms of which Authorized Dealers (ADs) are allowed to release 10,000 US dollar or equivalent on account of treatment abroad. 02. It has been decided that the limit of 10,000 US dollar or equivalent shall stand relaxed on account of treatment abroad for persons injured in the Students-People’s uprising - July 2024 Revolution. In this context, ADs may release foreign exchange based on estimation. In addition to banking channel, international card channel may be used for the transactions.
