The limit for foreign exchange release to students proceeding abroad for study on account of transit expenses is increased from USD 200 to USD 500. This amendment applies to Authorized Dealer banks in Bangladesh under paragraph 10 (B) (a), chapter 11 of the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions (GFET), Vol-1 (2009 Edition). All other instructions within the referenced paragraph remain unchanged.

Please refer to paragraph 10 (B) (a), chapter 11 of the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions (GFET), Vol-1 (2009 Edition) in terms of which Authorized Dealer banks are allowed to release foreign exchange to students proceeding abroad for study on account of transit expenses not exceeding USD 200 or its equivalent. 02. It has been decided to enhance such transit expenses to USD 500 from USD 200. Other instructions of the paragraph referred above will remain unchanged.
