Reporting Suspicious Transaction Report for Government (STR-G) on goAML

FMU-Circular No. 02 of 2026 July 28, 2026 To: All The Designated Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), Regulators, Self￾Regulatory Bodies (SRBs), relevant Competent Authorities Reporting Suspicious Activity as an STR-G on goAML to Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU) Under Section 7(2) of the Anti-Money Laundering Act 2010 The Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU), Government of Pakistan is the central agency established under Section 6 of Anti- Money Laundering Act (AML Act 2010), empowered to receive Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) from the reporting entities under Section 6(4)(a) of the AML Act 2010. 2. Under Section 7(1) of the AML Act 2010, the reporting entities are required to submit STRs to FMU in the prescribed manner. Further, under Section 7(2) of the Act, any government agency, autonomous body, oversight body for SRB, AML/CFT Regulatory Authority may share intelligence or report their suspicions within the meaning of STR with FMU. 3. To streamline the reporting of STRs under section 7(2), FMU has developed a dedicated reporting category, namely STR-Government (STR-G) within goAML reporting system. The STR-G reporting framework allowsrelevant government agencies to report suspicions, where appropriate, relating to ML, TF and PF. 4. The detailed guidelines and procedures for filing STR-G with FMU are attached for information and guidance of all relevant government agencies.
