The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Bolivia authorizes the issuance of 33,000,000 coins from the c.10 cut of the Fourth Minting, with a total face value of 3,300,000. The Administration is authorized to launch an advertising campaign to publicize the new characteristics of these copper-plated steel coins, and Dr. Jaime Ponce García is designated to represent the Board at the monetization ceremony. The Presidency and General Management are tasked with executing and complying with this resolution.
BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 008/98 SUBJECT: CURRENCY AND CREDIT - AUTHORIZES THE ISSUANCE OF COINS FROM THE c.10 CUT CORRESPONDING TO THE FOURTH MINTING.
VIEWING: Law No. 1670 of October 31, 1995. Law 901 of November 28, 1986, which creates the "Boliviano" as the legal and mandatory unit of currency. Report No. 003/98 from the Currency and Credit Management dated January 13, 1998. Report UAJUR-042/98 from the Legal Affairs Unit dated January 20, 1998.
CONSIDERING: That according to Article 10 of Law 1670, the Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB) exercises the exclusive and non-delegable function of issuing the monetary unit of Bolivia, which is the "Boliviano," in the form of banknotes and metallic coins.
That the BCB has received from the company Deutsche Nickel Ag. of Germany, the coins from the c.10 cut corresponding to the Fourth Minting.
That the coins from the c.10 cut were manufactured in copper-plated steel and present a smooth bicolor edge, aspects that make them different from the coins of the Third Minting and that, consequently, their new characteristics must be made public knowledge.
That it is the attribution of the Board of Directors, in accordance with Article 54, subsection m) of Law 1670, to authorize and supervise the issuance of coins.
THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CENTRAL BANK OF BOLIVIA RESOLVES:

Article 1.- Authorize the issuance of the coins from the c.10 cut, corresponding to the Fourth Minting, according to the following detail:

Article 2.- Authorize the Administration to launch an advertising campaign directed at disseminating the new characteristics of the coin from this cut.
Article 3.- Appoint Dr. Jaime Ponce García to participate, on behalf of the Board of Directors, in the act of monetization of this monetary material.
Article 4.- The Presidency and the General Management are charged with the execution and compliance of this Resolution.
