The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Bolivia authorizes the monetization of 35,400,000 metallic coins with a total face value of 56,500,000 Bolivianos. The authorization covers specific denominations including 8,400,000 coins of 5 Bolivianos, 5,000,000 of 1 Boliviano, 13,000,000 of 0.50 Bolivianos, 11,000,000 of 0.10 Bolivianos, and 8,000,000 of 0.10 Bolivianos. The President and General Management are tasked with executing and ensuring compliance with this resolution.
BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 032/2002 SUBJECT: MONETARY OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT – AUTHORIZES MONETIZATION OF COINS.
HAVING SEEN: Law No. 901 of November 28, 1986, which creates the "Boliviano" as the legal and mandatory unit of currency. Law 1670 of October 31, 1995. The Statute of the Central Bank of Bolivia of December 13, 2001. Board Resolution 108/2001 of October 30, 2001. Board Resolution 124/2001 of November 4, 2001. The Report from the Monetary Operations Management STES No. 006/2002 of March 26, 2002. The Report from the Legal Affairs Management SANO No. 058/2002 of April 1, 2002.
CONSIDERING: That Article 1 of Law No. 901 creates the Boliviano as the unit of the monetary system of the Republic, through banknotes and coins that the Central Bank of Bolivia will issue and circulate as legal tender, starting from January 1, 1987.
That according to Article 10 of Law 1670, the Central Bank of Bolivia exercises exclusively and inalienably the function of issuing the monetary unit of Bolivia, in the form of banknotes and metallic coins.
That through Board Resolution No. 124/2001, the monetization of 25,600,000 pieces of 5 Bs. coins was authorized.
That the Central Bank of Bolivia, in accordance with the contract signed with the Royal Canadian Mint, received the entirety of the minted coins.
That according to Article 9 of the Regulations for the Issuance, Exchange, and Destruction of Monetary Material, the Board has the authority to determine the date and amount of the monetization of banknotes and metallic coins.
//2. B.D. No. 032/2002 That it is an attribution of the Board according to Article 54, paragraph m) of Law 1670, to authorize and supervise the minting of coins.
THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CENTRAL BANK OF BOLIVIA RESOLVES:
Article 1.- Authorize the monetization of the metallic coins according to the following detail:
