The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Bolivia approves the institution's participation in UNICEF's International Commemorative Coin Program titled "For the Children of the World." The resolution authorizes the Bank's legal representatives to sign the participation agreement and related legal instruments for the minting, issuance, and commercialization of the coins. Additionally, the Presidency and General Management are empowered to define the design, quantities, materials, and quality of the coins to be produced.
BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 040/97 SUBJECT: CURRENCY AND CREDIT - AUTHORIZES PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM OF COMMEMORATIVE COINS OF UNICEF NAMED "FOR THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD".
VIEWED: Law No. 1670 of the Central Bank of Bolivia dated October 31, 1995. The Note from UNICEF dated April 11, 1996, requesting Bolivia's participation in the International Program of Commemorative Coins named "For the Children of the World." The Report from the Legal Affairs Management S-J.I. No. 020/96 dated June 13, 1996. The Report from the Currency and Credit Management TES-012/96 dated June 17, 1996.
CONSIDERING: That the aforementioned International Program will allow financing projects aimed at improving the living conditions of children worldwide and of the issuing country in particular. That publicity regarding this Program will favor the image of the country, by making evident its willingness for international cooperation in this matter, while simultaneously expanding Bolivia's numismatic market. That based on the aforementioned background, Bolivia's participation in the cited International Program has been deemed appropriate.
Therefore, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CENTRAL BANK OF BOLIVIA RESOLVES:
//2. B.D. No. 040/97 Article 1.- Approve the participation of the Central Bank of Bolivia in the International Program of Commemorative Coins of UNICEF named "For the Children of the World."
Article 2.- Authorize the legal representatives of the Bank to sign the Participation Agreement with the Executive Director of the Program, as well as the other legal instruments linked to the minting, issuance, and commercialization of the coins.
Article 3.- Authorize the Presidency and the General Management to define the design, quantities, material, and quality of the coins to be minted.
Article 4.- The Presidency and the General Management are tasked with executing this Resolution.
