The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Bolivia approves fixed-term deposits up to three months in the Latin American Bank of Exports (BLADEX) with a maximum investment limit of US$20,000,000. The Presidency and General Management are tasked with executing and complying with this resolution.
BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 068/98 SUBJECT: INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT - APPROVES INVESTMENT MARGIN IN THE LATIN AMERICAN BANK OF EXPORTS (BLADEX).
VIEWED: The BCB Law No. 1670 of October 31, 1995, Chapter II, regarding the functions of the Central Bank of Bolivia in relation to International Reserves. The Regulation for the Administration of International Reserves, approved by Board Resolution No. 080/97 of February 18, 1997. The GAI Report No. 008/98 of the International Affairs Department dated June 30, 1998. The UAJUR Report No. 459/98 of the Legal Affairs Unit dated July 2, 1998.
CONSIDERING: That Article 10 of the Regulation for the Administration of International Reserves stipulates that the BCB Board shall set the maximum limits for the investment of international monetary reserves in each of the multilateral, global, or regional organizations in which the country holds shareholding participation.
That the GAI Report No. 008/98 of the International Affairs Department recommends making investments in the Latin American Bank of Exports (BLADEX), in fixed-term deposits, given its character as a multinational organization and its recognized international prestige and solvency.
That according to the UAJUR Report No. 459/98 of the Legal Affairs Unit, there is no legal impediment for the Board to authorize the investment margin in the Latin American Bank of Exports (BLADEX).
That the Reserve Administration Committee of the Bank, in its meeting on June 26, 1998, recommends, based on the criteria of security, liquidity, profitability, and institutional reciprocity established in the aforementioned Regulation, to make fixed-term deposits up to three months in BLADEX, with a maximum investment limit of US$20,000,000.- (Twenty million 00/100 American dollars).
THEREFORE
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CENTRAL BANK OF BOLIVIA
RESOLVES:
Article 1.- Approve the establishment of fixed-term deposits up to three (3) months in the Latin American Bank of Exports (BLADEX), with a maximum investment limit of US$20,000,000.- (TWENTY MILLION 00/100 AMERICAN DOLLARS).
Article 2.- The Presidency and General Management are charged with the execution and compliance of this Resolution.
