Reference: Adoption of ISSB Sustainability Disclosure Standards

Dear General Manager:

Through Resolution No. 012-2025 of the Accounting Standards Board, published in Official Gazette No. 30480 on March 11, 2026, the Republic of Panama adopted the ISSB Sustainability Disclosure Standards, issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), with entry into force effective January 1, 2026.

These standards require entities to integrate, into their financial information, risks and opportunities related to sustainability and climate change.

Considering that said resolution contemplates the possibility of early adoption, this Superintendency will evaluate the application date, the scope of implementation, and the regulatory conditions applicable to the banking sector, in exercise of its powers regarding financial information regulation and disclosure.

In addition, it is informed that the Superintendency will issue specific guidelines for the implementation of these standards, with the purpose of providing technical clarity and ensuring their uniform application in the banking system.
