SD Circular No. 01: Allocation of new Currency Code of ACU Japanese Yen and Category Code of Personal Import for all schedule/form of foreign exchange transactions reporting

The document allocates the new ACU currency code 76 for Japanese Yen transactions and category code 32 for personal imports. To: All Approved Dealers engaged in Foreign Exchange Transactions.

Dear Sir,

Subject: Allocation of new codes for reporting of ACU and Personal Import against import value payment in foreign exchange transactions.

Reference is invited to Section 2 (ACU) and Section 8 (Import) of the Foreign Exchange Rules, 2012 (Amended 2012).

  1. In light of Circular No. 18/01/2018 dated 18/01/2018, the ACU code 76 has been allocated for ACU transactions in favor of ACU (ACU-JPY).

  2. The Import code 32 has been allocated for Personal Import (Choto Choto Import).

All approved dealers are advised to report the relevant returns, schedules, and all online (Current, Savings, Fixed Deposit, and Foreign Currency Deposit) monitoring systems to Bangladesh Bank in due course according to the newly allocated codes.
