Circular No. 04 Date: May 15, 2014 Joishtho 1, 1421 Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer All scheduled banks functioning in Bangladesh Dear Sir, Submission of E-banking and E-commerce return through RIT Statistics Department of Bangladesh Bank collects data from the financial and non-financial institutions and compiles the data and prepares some important macro-economic indicators regularly. The monthly booklet “Monthly Economic Trends” compiled and published by the Department which comprises very useful information are used in formulation of monetary policy of the country and are also used by users with high demand for analytical purpose. Presently with the help of prevailing internet and modern information technologies banks and other financial institutions have extended their E-commerce and E-banking business in addition to their traditional banking which are greatly contributing to the green banking as well as our economy. This Department has taken decision to collect and compile this data with a view to publish it in the booklet “Monthly Economic Trends”. As per decision taken by the bank, you are requested to send quarterly E-banking and E-commerce return through RIT regularly from June, 2014 to this department (through BB web portal) by 15th of the month following the quarter to which it relates. It is to be mentioned here that the RIT (T_ME_M_EBANKING_ECOMMERCE) related to this return can be downloaded from Bangladesh Bank website or it also can be collected from the Economic Trends Section of this Department.
