Dear Sir,

Regarding the submission of the Annual CSR Budget of Banks and Finance Companies

Reference is drawn to Circular Letter No. 01/2022 issued through the Sustainable Finance Department, regarding the submission of the Annual CSR Budget of Banks and Finance Companies.

2. In light of the existing CSR policy, all scheduled banks and finance companies operating in Bangladesh are hereby directed to regularly submit a copy of their approved annual CSR budget (including board memos) to this department by mid-February each year. This submission must be based on the net profit after tax (NPAT) of the immediately preceding year ending in December, as verified by the management, to ensure the proper utilization of sector-wise CSR expenditure under the CSR Policy. It is noted that if the aforementioned CSR budget is subsequently amended, a copy of the revised budget must be submitted along with the semi-annual report.

3. This directive is issued under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Companies (Amendment) Act, 2023 and Section 41 of the Finance Company Act, 2023, and shall take immediate effect.
