The Central Bank of Bolivia mandates that supervised financial intermediation entities with accounts at the central bank must use the Integrated Payment Settlement System (LIP) for processing payment orders, replacing the High-Value Payment System (SIPAV) effective August 18, 2014. The Financial Entities Management will establish implementation schedules for entities not currently participating in SIPAV. To support this transition, the central bank will conduct presentation workshops in La Paz, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, and Tarija and provide technical assistance via designated phone lines and email.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB) announces that on June 10, 2014, with Board Resolution No. 61/2014, it approved the Regulations for the Integrated Payment Settlement System – LIP (attached), which establishes that this system will be put into production on August 18, 2014, replacing the High-Value Payment System (SIPAV).
Financial intermediation entities supervised by the ASFI that have an account at the BCB must use the LIP for processing their payment orders, and the Financial Entities Management will establish schedules for the incorporation of entities that are not currently participants in the SIPAV.
To disseminate the Regulations and the functioning of the system, the Financial Entities Management of the BCB will hold presentation workshops in the cities of La Paz, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, and Tarija and will address inquiries regarding the implementation of the LIP at phone numbers 2407262, 2147077, 2661627, and 2661623 and through the institutional email ayudalip@bcb.gob.bo.
