SGDB N°051/2015: Settlement with Foreign Exchange Instruments

The Central Bank of Bolivia mandates that operations for the settlement of debtor and creditor positions in foreign exchange (EDV) be integrated into the Integrated Payment Settlement System (LIP) starting October 16, 2015. Participating entities must request the addition of specific digital certificate operations to their current certificates to execute these transfers. The circular establishes specific operational time windows for these transactions, distinguishing between the first stage, second stage, and Melor periods.

FROM: GENERAL MANAGEMENT MANAGEMENT OF FINANCIAL ENTITIES TO: PARTICIPANTS IN THE INTEGRATED PAYMENT SETTLEMENT SYSTEM – LIP (SETTLEMENT ENTITIES IN THE EDV OPERATIONAL FRAMEWORK) and EDV SUBJECT: SETTLEMENT WITH FOREIGN EXCHANGE INSTRUMENTS

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The Central Bank of Bolivia notifies participants in the Integrated Payment Settlement System (LIP) who perform settlement in the EDV operational framework that, effective October 16, 2015, "Settlement with Foreign Exchange Instruments" operations will be included in the LIP System with the following characteristics:

To perform these transfers in the LIP System, participating entities must request the addition of the aforementioned operations to their valid digital certificates.

The modifications mentioned are part of the Operational and IT Guide of the LIP System (v.1.0).
