Special Regulation for Portfolio Assumed by Banks with State Guarantee

The Superintendence of Banks and Other Financial Institutions of Nicaragua establishes that credit assets received by banks as consideration for liabilities, when backed by a state guarantee to ensure deposit payments during bank intervention or forced liquidation, are to be considered as active credits for the duration and extent of that guarantee.

SINGLE PROVISION. Banks that, for the purpose of guaranteeing the payment of deposits in banking entities subject to intervention or Forced Liquidation, have received credit assets as consideration for liabilities, and which are backed by the State's guarantee, shall consider such credits as active credits for the time and to the extent that they enjoy said guarantee.
