STD Circular Letter No. 02: Submission of monthly e-Banking and e-Commerce returns through Revised RIT
The Statistics Department of the Bangladesh Bank mandates that all scheduled banks and Mobile Financial Services (MFS) providers submit monthly e-Banking and e-Commerce data using the Revised RIT format. Providers must collect data from the Bangladesh Bank DOWR portal and submit March through August 2025 data by the 17th of the following month, after which the current RIT is abolished for this purpose. From September 2025 onwards, only the Revised RIT submissions are required, due by the 10th of the following month, effective immediately.

Subject: Submission of monthly e-Banking and e-Commerce returns through Revised RIT.
Dear Sir,
Reference is drawn to your attention to SD Circular No. 04 dated November 12, 2018, regarding the submission of e-Banking and e-Commerce returns by this department.
- According to the aforementioned circular, only scheduled banks have been regularly submitting e-Banking and e-Commerce returns to the Statistics Department by the 10th of the following month, starting from December 2018, through the RIT (Return Information Template). In light of reality, it is necessary to collect information/data on new services and the growth trajectory of the technology-dependent financial sector from both scheduled banks and MFS providers. To this end, the RIT has been revised, and the returns must be submitted to the Statistics Department on time according to the following instructions:
a) The Revised RIT must be collected from the Bangladesh Bank DOWR.
b) In addition to submitting returns by the 10th of the following month as per the current RIT, data for the 6-month period from March 2025 to August 2025 according to the Revised RIT must be submitted by the 17th of the following month. Thereafter, the current RIT shall be considered abolished.
c) From September 2025 onwards, only returns according to the Revised RIT must be regularly submitted by the 10th of the following month, instead of the mentioned 17th.
These instructions shall be implemented immediately.
