STD Circular Letter No. 03: Reporting in RITs of deposits and loans & advances of NBFCs distributed by rate of interest

The Statistics Department of Bangladesh Bank requires Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) to report deposits and loans & advances distributed by interest rate using new Reporting in Time (RIT) templates effective April 2025. NBFCs must include a new code (24700) for all loans and advances distributed by interest rate in the Loans & Advances template and submit data for newly collected deposits and distributed loans separately via the Deposit Template. These instructions amend previous reporting guidelines issued on August 5, 2018, to accelerate and enhance the calculation of weighted average interest rates.

Statistics Department 11 April, 2025 Statistics Department Circular Letter No.-03 Date: ----------------- 03 Baishakh, 1432

Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer All Finance Companies operating in Bangladesh.

Regarding: Inclusion of new codes in RITs for calculating weighted average interest rates on deposits and loans & advances, and submission of new deposit and loan data.

Dear Sir,

We draw your attention to SD Circular No.-03 dated 05 August 2018, issued by the Statistics Department of Bangladesh Bank.

  1. According to the aforementioned circular, you are instructed to upload the statement of interest rates on current month's deposits and loans & advances, respectively, under the headings "Deposit Template" and "Loans & Advances Template" via 2 RITs to the Bangladesh Bank website by the 10th of the following month.

  2. Now, in order to accelerate and make the process of calculating the weighted average interest rate on deposits and loans & advances more effective, the following instructions will be followed:

a) In addition to the existing 7 codes in the "Loans & Advances Template" regarding loans, all amounts and interest rates of loans distributed for the purpose of "All Loans Distributed by Interest Rate" must be submitted through a new code (24700) named "Interest Rate-wise All Loans". Furthermore, the list of all "Non-Performing Loans" has been attached as "Appendix-A".

b) According to "Appendix-B", data/information on newly collected deposits and distributed loans for the reporting month must be submitted separately via the "Deposit Template".

  1. These instructions will be effective from April, 2025.

Yours faithfully,

(Md. Habibur Rahman) Director (Statistics) Phone- 9530316
