24 MARCH 2023 UNAPPROVED 2023 FUND RULES OF HERITAGE HEALTH MEDICAL AID FUND The Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) exists to supervise financial institutions and financial services, and to advise the Minister of Finance on matters relating to financial institutions and financial services in terms of the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority Act, 2001 (Act No. 3 of 2001). In terms of section 31(1) of the Medical Aid Funds Act,1995 (Act No. 23 of 1995) (the Act), no alteration, rescission or addition to a registered medical aid fund’s rules shall be valid unless it has been approved by the Registrar and registered under section 31(2) of the Act. NAMFISA hereby notifies the members of Heritage Health Medical Aid Fund (Heritage Health), and the public, that any increase in contribution rates, amendments to benefit limits, and the introduction of new benefit options that have been implemented by Heritage Health with effect from 1 January 2023 have not been approved by the Registrar of Medical Aid Funds (the Registrar). Members of Heritage Health and the public at large are herewith informed that the contribution rates payable by members are those contribution rates that were approved by the Registrar for the 2018 financial year, plus the increases as approved on 27 June 2022. Members of Heritage Health may contact NAMFISA, should further clarity be required on the approved contribution rates.
