This regulatory guide was withdrawn on 15 August 2023.

A new, single external dispute resolution (EDR) scheme – the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) – commenced operations on 1 November 2018. AFCA replaced the predecessor EDR schemes, the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and the Credit and Investments Ombudsman (CIO). All complaints made to FOS and CIO were transferred to AFCA and resolved.

For information about how we will perform our oversight role in relation to AFCA, see Regulatory Guide 267 Oversight of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority ( RG 267 ).
