The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) requires all authorized damage insurers in Québec to electronically submit their annual automobile insurance experience questionnaire via AMF E-Services. This filing fulfills statutory obligations under sections 177, 178, and 181 of the Automobile Insurance Act and enables the regulator to complete its provincial rate analysis. Insurers bear full responsibility for delivering accurate documentation by the January 31, 2020 deadline.
Notice of the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) relating to the annual questionnaire on automobile insurance experience in Québec This notice is intended for damage insurers authorized to carry on automobile insurance activities in Québec. Pursuant to sections 177 and 178 of the Automobile Insurance Act, CQLR, c. A-25 (the “Act”), the Groupement des assureurs automobiles (“GAA”), as an agency authorized by the AMF, collects statistical data concerning insurers’ automobile insurance experience in Québec and transmits the data to the AMF. However, to complete its analysis of automobile insurance rates in Québec, the AMF requires additional information from the insurers. To that end, pursuant to section 181 of the Act, every authorized insurer must furnish such proof to the AMF as it may demand regarding any matter or matters in its rate manual. Questionnaire on automobile insurance experience in Québec The AMF is collecting the information required to complete its analysis on automobile insurance rates in Québec using the questionnaire titled Information on Automobile Insurance Experience in Québec. This questionnaire is available on the AMF website at: https://lautorite.qc.ca/professionnels/assureurs/assurance-automobile/manuel-de-tarificationautomobile/ All required or requested documents and information must be filed electronically via AMF EServices. We remind you that each insurer is responsible for ensuring that the AMF receives all the required documents and information on the fixed dates. We also remind you that the questionnaire must be filed no later than January 31, 2020.
