Second Street, Suite 1300 | Harrisburg, PA 17101-2290 | 717.787.5783 | F 717.214.0808 | pa.gov/dobs COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF BANKING AND SECURITIES August 19, 2026 To: Chief Executive Officers of Pennsylvania State Chartered Banking and Trust Institutions To assist your institution in preparation of a schedule of holidays, below is a list of 2027 legal bank holidays as extracted from Section 113 of the Banking Code of 1965, as amended: Fixed Holidays January 1 – New Year’s Day January 18 – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day May 31 – Memorial Day June 19 – Juneteenth Day July 4 – Independence Day September 6 – Labor Day November 25 – Thanksgiving Day December 25 – Christmas Day Optional Holidays February 12 – Lincoln’s Birthday February 15 – Washington’s Birthday March 26 – Good Friday June 14 – Flag Day October 11 – Columbus Day November 2 – Election Day November 11 – Veterans’ Day When a fixed holiday falls on a Sunday, it shall be observed on the following Monday; when it falls on a Saturday, it may also be observed on the following Monday. Juneteenth Day, June 19, 2027 falls on a Saturday, therefore, institutions must be closed on June 19, 2027 and may also be closed the following Monday, June 21, 2027. Independence Day, July 4, 2027 falls on a Sunday, therefore, institutions must be closed the following Monday, July 5, 2027. Christmas Day, December 25, 2027 falls on a Saturday, therefore, institutions must be closed on December 25, 2027 and may also be closed the following Monday, December 27, 2027.
