Cooper issued a Consent Order (Order) on June 30, 2026, relating to C. Johnson Funeral Home (Respondent) of Houston, Texas. The Order is based on the Commissioner’s finding that the Respondent violated Texas Finance Code Chapter 154, by failing to timely deposit prepaid funeral benefits payments into the designated trust account, along with other violations of state laws. The Order requires Respondent to pay an administrative penalty and to comply with the requirements of Texas Finance Code Chapter 154.
