BRPD Circular Letter No. 12: Modification of Policy regarding establishments of business center by Banks
The circular amends paragraph 1(g)(3) of BRPD Circular No. 18 dated 29/11/2012 to redefine branch classifications. Branches established in metropolitan areas, city corporations, and 'A' and 'B' class municipalities are now designated as 'City Branches', while branches in 'C' class municipalities and union areas are designated as 'Rural Branches'. This modification takes effect immediately for all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh.

Dear Sir,
Regarding "Modification of Policy regarding establishments of business center by Banks".
- Reference is invited to BRPD Circular No.-18, dated 29/11/2012 issued on the subject mentioned above. With the amendment to paragraph 1(g)(3) of BRPD Circular No.-18, dated 29/11/2012, branches established in all metropolitan areas/city corporations and 'A' and 'B' class municipalities shall be considered as 'City Branches', and branches established in all 'C' class municipalities and union areas shall be considered as 'Rural Branches'.
This instruction shall take effect immediately.
