Banks are required to adopt specific operational standards, including setting air conditioner temperatures at a minimum of 25°C, conducting monthly filter cleaning, performing annual servicing, and monitoring energy consumption metrics such as CO2 levels and humidity. The directive mandates the adoption of energy-efficient technologies, such as LED lighting and inverter-based appliances, and encourages the generation of renewable energy to meet at least 3% of office electricity demand.

Reference is drawn to your attention to the 'Guidelines on Efficient Use of Fuel and Electricity in Government Office Buildings' and the 'Directive on Energy Efficient Use, Maintenance and Inspection of Air Conditioners in Office Buildings' prepared by the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh (attached).
Instructions are hereby given to formulate your bank's own policy in line with the guidelines and directives prepared by SREDA and to ensure their proper implementation.

Integrated Guidelines on Efficient Use of Fuel and Electricity in Government Office Buildings

Application: This directive will be applied for the proper maintenance and operation, inspection, and responsible efficient use of air conditioning in office buildings.
