BRPD Circular Letter No. 47: Regarding Loan Rescheduling of Cold Storage Industry

Dear Sir,

Regarding the provision of special facilities for the rescheduling of loans to the agriculture-based cold storage industry.

Reference is invited to BRPD Circular No. 13 dated July 13, 2023, on the subject cited above.

2. In paragraph (a) of the aforementioned circular, it was instructed that interested customers wishing to reschedule their loans/investments must apply to the authorized bank within 90 days of the issuance of the circular, after depositing the cash down payment. However, it has come to our notice that due to various reasons outside the control of the sector, a significant number of customers in this sector have not been able to apply to the respective banks for availing the facilities distributed in the circular, as they have not been able to fulfill the prerequisites.

3. In this regard, the time limit for customers of the agriculture-based cold storage industry to apply to the authorized bank after depositing the necessary cash down payment for the down payment has been extended until November 30, 2023.

4. Furthermore, all other instructions of BRPD Circular No. 13/2023 shall remain unchanged.

5. These instructions are issued under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991, and shall take effect immediately.
