Bulletin 2758 - December 30, 2016
The Department of Banking approved the merger of Housatonic Teachers Federal Credit Union into Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union, expanding Nutmeg's field of membership to include Shelton, Stratford, and Bridgeport. The bulletin also solicits public comments on The Milford Bank's application to close its full-service branch at 2366 Main Street in Stratford and its application to open a new full-service branch at 3651 Main Street in Stratford. Written comments regarding these branch activities must be submitted to the Banking Commissioner within ten days of the bulletin's date.

Written comments will be considered only if they are received within ten days from the date of this bulletin.

Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires certain applications for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, address how the establishment of the branch will be consistent with safe and sound banking practices and promote the public convenience and advantage. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. STATE CREDIT UNION ACTIVITY
Merger
On December 28, 2016, the Commissioner approved the merger of Housatonic Teachers Federal Credit Union , a federal credit union, with and into Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union (“Nutmeg”), a Connecticut credit union, pursuant to Section 36a-468a of the Connecticut General Statutes. In conjunction with the merger, Nutmeg’s field of membership will expand to include Shelton, Stratford, and Bridgeport.
