The Commissioner of Banking sets the deposit index for calendar year 2021 at 0.08%, establishing minimum interest rates for rental security deposits, state-held funds, and mortgage escrow accounts, while maintaining a 1.5% floor for public service and telecommunications customer security deposits. The Commissioner approved the merger of Litchfield Bancorp and Collinsville Bank into Northwest Community Bank. Additionally, the relocation of the main office for American Eagle Financial Credit Union in East Hartford was filed.

DEPOSIT INDEX AND INTEREST RATES

Pursuant to Section 36a-26 of the Connecticut General Statutes, the Commissioner has determined the deposit index for the calendar year 2021 to be 0.08%

The following rates are for the period commencing January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2021. The type of account and statutory reference are listed along with the rate.

On December 2, 2020, the Commissioner approved the merger of Litchfield Bancorp and Collinsville Bank with and into Northwest Community Bank , all Connecticut banks and subsidiaries of Connecticut Mutual Holding Company, pursuant to Section 36a-125 of the Connecticut General Statutes.
