Circular to Licensed Money Changer Companies

Greetings,

With reference to the provisions of paragraph (a) of Article (5) of the Money Changer Companies Licensing System No. (39) of 2021, and the Instructions on Approving Global Electronic Payment Systems No. (3) of 2020, and in accordance with the provisions of paragraph (e) of Article (3) of the Electronic Payment and Money Transfer System No. (111) of 2017, please be informed of the issuance of the Central Bank of Jordan Board of Directors Decision No. (212/2021) dated 14 / 12 / 2021, which includes the following:

First: Electronic payment systems licensed to money changer companies in the Kingdom to manage and operate for the purpose of executing electronic financial transfers are considered approved systems if these systems are used in one or more countries other than the Kingdom.

Second: The provisions of the Instructions on Approving Global Electronic Payment Systems No. (3) of 2020 shall not apply to money changer companies in the Kingdom licensed to engage in the activity of managing and operating electronic payment systems. The Governor may determine any additional conditions and requirements that must be complied with by the companies whose systems have been approved in accordance with the above First point.
