Central Bank of Jordan Circular No. 22/2026 on Ramadan Working Hours

The Central Bank of Jordan mandates that banks operating in the kingdom reduce their official working hours to 9:00 AM–3:00 PM and customer service hours to 9:30 AM–2:30 PM during Ramadan. The circular specifies adjusted schedules for the Jordan Real-Time Gross Settlement System, Dinar Deposit Window, and Central Bank teller windows. Banks are permitted to extend their operating hours or offer evening services provided they notify the regulator in advance and revert to standard hours after the holy month.

Circular to the Banks operating in the kingdom No. (22/2026)

On the occasion of the approaching upcoming holy month of Ramadan, I would like to inform you of the following:

  1. The official working hours for banks operating throughout the days of this holy month will be from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
  2. Customer service hours will begin at 9:30 AM and continue until 2:30 PM.
  3. The daily working hours for the Jordan Real-Time Gross Settlement System (RTGS-JO) will be as follows: a. The exchange period between members begins at 8:45 AM and ends at 2:30 PM. b. Receiving net settlement files from retail payment systems for settlement on the system begins at 9:15 AM and ends at 2:15 PM. c. The liquidity period begins at 2:30 PM and continues until 3:00 PM. During this period, transfer orders necessary to fulfill pending orders in the waiting lists or existing intraday repurchase agreements are processed. d. The business day in the system ends at 3:00 PM.
  4. The time for receiving deposits at the Dinar Deposit Window is from 1:45 PM until 2:45 PM.

  1. The Tellers windows at the Central Bank will operate for cash withdrawals and deposits with operating banks from 9:30 AM until 2:00 PM, Please adhere to the specified times for utmost importance.
  2. There is no objection for banks who wish to do so, to extend their official working hours or operate during the evening period during the blessed month of Ramadan in order to provide banking services to customers, provided that the bank returns to its regular working hours after the end of the holy month. We would like to emphasize the need to inform us in advance of the working hours during this month and the names of the branches/offices where working hours will be extended.
