Amendment of the Upper Limit for Interest/Yield on Credit Payment Instruments

The Central Bank of Jordan amends Article 23/A of the Financial Consumer Protection Instructions for Payment and Electronic Money Transfer Companies to reduce the maximum monthly interest or yield on credit payment instruments from 1.75% to 1.5%. This directive applies to all payment and money transfer companies under the Bank's supervision, requiring them to update internal systems, notify customers, and apply the new rate to existing and future instruments. The amendment becomes effective within 60 working days from the circular's date, and affected entities must provide evidence of compliance.
