Subject: - Financial Data - General Department of Statistics

Referring to the letter from the General Department of Statistics No. (3182/10/1/9) dated 2023/12/10 (attached).

We request your cooperation with the General Department of Statistics by providing them with financial data without mentioning any individual information or data related to insured persons or beneficiaries, and sending a copy to the Central Bank.

Greetings,

The General Department of Statistics annually conducts many sample statistical surveys covering all economic sectors to provide data on the establishment's activity for the previous year prior to the visit, used for calculating Gross Domestic Product, in addition to quarterly data used for calculating quarterly economic indicators. It should be noted that this data is considered confidential according to Article 11/a of the Public Statistics Law No. 12 of 2012, which states the following:

"All individual information and data submitted to the Department related to any survey or census are considered confidential, and the Department or any of its employees are not allowed to disclose them to any person or public or private entity, in whole or in part, or use them for any purpose other than preparing statistical tables," under legal liability.

It should be noted that paragraphs (a) and (b) of Article Nine of the same Law state the following: (a) Every natural or legal person must provide all data requested of them by the Department's employees assigned to any statistical or census work, whether individual data or data related to their profession or private business, whether commercial or industrial, and must provide it in the manner and date specified by the Department. (b) The persons mentioned in paragraph (a) of this article must facilitate the task of the Department's employees; therefore, the General Department of Statistics requests cooperation from its researchers and instructs agents, brokers, consultants, and insurance adjusters to provide them with financial data for the year 2022 or through them without mentioning any individual data related to insured persons.
