The Central Bank of Jordan requires licensed banks to implement supervisory controls for all cash deposit operations to ensure accuracy in preparing cash deposits and verifying deposit document information. This directive addresses recent failures by banks to maintain data accuracy, which contradicts instructions outlined in Memorandum No. 11/2024 dated 27 May 2024. Licensed banks must adopt these measures to prevent future discrepancies in their dealings with the Central Bank.

Memorandum to Licensed Banks No. (14/2025)
Greetings,
It has been observed recently that a number of licensed banks have failed to maintain accuracy when preparing their cash deposits held at the Central Bank, and have failed to maintain accuracy when preparing deposit documents and verifying all information contained therein. This is contrary to what was stated in our memoranda No. (11/2024) dated 27/5/2024 (attached) regarding instructions for depositing and withdrawing cash from the Central Bank. This matter necessitates the adoption of all necessary supervisory controls by you for each deposit operation to prevent such occurrences in the future.
Please accept our highest regards,
Governor Dr. Adel Al-Sharkas [Signature]
