The Central Bank of Jordan waives import stamp fees on medium-term financing advances extended to licensed banks, effective January 6, 2014. This exemption applies provided that the licensed banks continue to charge these import stamp fees to their clients. The directive is issued by the Central Bank of Jordan to Governor Dr. Ziad Fariz.
Number: 3/1/17996 Date: 4 Raby Al-awal 1435 Higri Corresponding to 6 January 2014 Circulation to all Licensed Banks In line with measures taken by the Central Bank to provide medium- term financing to licensed banks for the purpose of re- lending economic sectors, it has been thereby decided not to charge fees of import stamps for the advances extended by the Central Bank of Jordan to licensed banks as part of the program of medium- term financing, as long as banks continue to charge the fees of import stamps on these advances from their clients.
