The Central Bank of Bolivia mandates that all Electronic Fund Transfer Orders (OETF) processed through the Deferred Settlement Module (MLD) must utilize ISO 8859-1 character encoding. Financial entities participating in the LIP module are required to configure their IT developments to comply with this standard; any messages failing to meet this requirement will be automatically rejected. This regulation applies to all financial entities participating in the Integrated Payment System's Deferred Settlement Module.

Gentlemen: The Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB), with the purpose of strengthening the continuous and normal processing of OETF through the Deferred Settlement Module (MLD), communicates that the processing of Electronic Orders for Funds Transfer is carried out using ISO 8859-1 character encoding.
This character encoding must be taken into account to configure the corresponding IT developments; in this sense, messages that do not comply with this Circular will be automatically rejected.
