Circular BM No. 1224 - Commemorative Polymer Banknote - One Rial
The Central Bank of Oman introduces a commemorative polymer One Rial banknote as legal tender effective 11 January 2026. Banks must submit requests for these notes under category (O) series and are required to sort and separate them from other currency issues of the same denomination upon deposit. All banks are obligated to accept these commemorative notes at face value when presented by the public.

Subject: Commemorative Polymer Banknote - One Rial | الموضوع: ورقة نقدية تذكارية من البوليمر فئة الريال الواحد
The Central Bank of Oman is pleased to enclose herewith the announcement issued on 21st December 2025 regarding the new commemorative issue of the Polymer Banknotes of the One-Rial denomination. | يسر البنك المركزي العُماني أن يرفق بالطي الإعلان الصادر منه بتاريخ 21 ديسمبر 2025م. بخصوص الإصدار التذكاري الجديد من الورقة النقدية المصنوعة من البوليمر فئة الريال واحد.
This new banknote shall be in circulation as legal tender along with the existing banknotes with effect from the date of the Notice 11th January 2026. | وسيتم تداول هذه الورقة النقدية الجديدة كعملة قانونية جنباً إلى جنب مع الأوراق النقدية المتداولة حالياً، وذلك إبتداءً من 11 يناير 2026م.
Banks shall submit their requests to obtain the new banknotes through the usual channels and in accordance with the applicable procedures. The request must be submitted under catogrey (O) series banknotes when withdrawing or depositing. Banks are also required to sort and separate this banknote from other currency issues of the same denomination upon deposit. | يتعين على البنوك تقديم طلباتها للحصول على الأوراق النقدية الجديدة عبر القنوات المعتادة، ووفقاً للإجراءات المعمول بها. على أن يتم إدراج هذه الطلبات تحت فئة (ع) الخاصة بإصدارات الأوراق النقدية عند السحب أو الإيداع. كما يتوجب على البنوك فرز هذا الإصدار النقدي وفصله عن الإصدارات النقدية الأخرى من نفس الفئة عند الإيداع.
These commemorative banknotes are legal tenders for their face value and all Banks should accept them when presented by the public. | نعتبر هذه الأوراق النقدية التذكارية قانونية بقيمتها الإسمية، وعلى كافة المصارف قبولها عند تقديمها من قبل الجمهور.
