Madam, Sir,

By my Circular D1/TB/332 of July 13 last, I transmitted to you, for information and pending approval by the competent ministers, the Order of the Commission of July 4, 2000, modifying the Orders of December 5, 1995, relating to the own funds of credit institutions and stockbroking companies, as well as a brief commentary on the modifications made by this Order.

The modifying Order of the Commission has since been approved by the Ministers of Finance and the Economy by ministerial order of August 3, 2000, and published in the Belgian Monitor of August 15, 2000.

I also inform you that the Commission's services have prepared an updated coordinated version of the regulations relating to the own funds of credit institutions (Order, commentary) and stockbroking companies (Order, commentary) (unofficial coordination), as well as the related commentary. These texts can be consulted on the website of the Banking and Financial Commission (www.cbf.be) and will also be published in brochure form. An adaptation of the supplementary description tables for scheme A affected by these modifications is currently being prepared.
