The National Credit Regulator notifies registrants that debt counsellors who have lapsed or voluntarily de-registered are no longer authorized to provide services. The circular provides a list of these counsellors alongside the specific debt counsellors who have taken over their respective consumers. It further advises that the transfer process for consumers of lapsed counsellors is ongoing and that certain profiles have been split between two counsellors. Industry role players are urged to cooperate to ensure proper allocation of consumers to the new counsellors.
The purpose of this circular is to provide all registrants of the National Credit Regulator (NCR) with details of the debt counsellors (DCs) who took over consumers from the lapsed and voluntary de-registered DCs. The lapsed and voluntary de-registered DCs are no longer authorised to provide the debt counselling service to any prospective and/or existing consumers. We attach hereto, a list displaying the details of the lapsed and voluntary de-registered DCs as well as the details of the DCs who have taken over the consumers respectively. Please take note that the transfer process for consumers of the lapsed DCs is still work in progress, and further details will be communicated in due course. Due to factors beyond our control, the profiles of the below mentioned lapsed and/or voluntary deregistered DCs have been split between two (2) DCs: • Sinovuyo Mawande Ncetani NCRDC 2437 • Peter Trevor Erwee NCRDC 604 • Nyiko Reginald Matjokana NCRDC 191 The DCs who have taken over, have been advised to provide credit providers with the list of consumers allocated to them accordingly for proper allocation. The NCR would like to appeal to all relevant industry role players to engage and co-operate with each other in this process for the benefit of the mutual consumers.
