TO: THE MEDICAL AID FUNDS AND ADMINISTRATORS

RE: PAYMENT OF HEALTHCARE CONSULTANTS

The Registrar of Medical Aid Funds would like to state it clear that prior to any legislative guidelines from this office regarding the above matter, the situation will be regarded as follows:

"Until such time that NAMFISA come up with any legislative guidelines to be in force in this regard, the current or previous agreements with funds or administrators concern, must be adhered to as long as it does not contravene the current legislation".

Also, please note that any contracts not contravening the current legislation are legally binding; and it is the responsibility of parties involves to take any steps to honor those agreements. NAMFISA has no mandate to be involved in legal contractual issues among other legal entities.

A final decision regarding the above issue will be taken at a meeting to be held on the 30 September 2002, with the relevant parties.
