DECREE adding two paragraphs to Article 26 of the Law of the National System of Statistical and Geographic Information

ANDRÉS MANUEL LÓPEZ OBRADOR, President of the United Mexican States, to its inhabitants know:

That the Honorable Congress of the Union, has seen fit to send me the following

DECREE

"THE GENERAL CONGRESS OF THE UNITED MEXICAN STATES, DECREES:

TWO PARAGRAPHS ARE ADDED TO ARTICLE 26 OF THE LAW OF THE NATIONAL SYSTEM OF STATISTICAL AND GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION

Single Article.- A second and third paragraph are added to article 26 of the Law of the National System of Statistical and Geographic Information, to remain as follows:

ARTICLE 26.- ...

Likewise, it shall issue an official map of the Mexican Republic, that includes the Mexican marine zones, in accordance with established by the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States and the Federal Maritime Law, which shall be disseminated by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography.

The competent authorities in matters of territorial limits shall provide the Institute the necessary information for the elaboration of the map. Boundary conflicts shall be resolved through the competent instances.

Transitory Articles

First.- This Decree shall enter into force the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation.

Second.- The official map of the Mexican Republic shall be published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography once the competent authorities conclude the procedures that in matters of limits must be carried out before the corresponding national and international instances. The foregoing, subject to the budget availability established for the National Institute of Statistics and Geography in the present fiscal year and the subsequent ones.
