DFIM Circular Letter No. 02: Mainstreaming Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Financial Institutions

Financial Institutions in Bangladesh are required to submit a statement on CSR initiatives and a report on gender equality performance indicators on a half-yearly basis. These documents must be submitted to Bangladesh Bank within 30 days of each half-year end, with the first statement covering the period ending 31 December 2011 due by 31 January 2012. The submission formats require specific data on organizational governance, market environment engagement, financial inclusion investments, social projects, community investment, and detailed gender diversity metrics including board composition, employee breakdowns, and policy existence.

The statement and the report should reach Bangladesh Bank within 30 days of each half‐year end. First statement as of 31 December, 2011 is to be submitted within January 31, 2012.
