DFIM Circular Letter No. 06: Closure of financial institutions on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and fixing the post Eid office time table

Dear Sir,

Subject: Closure of financial institutions on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and fixing the post Eid office time table.

Reference is invited to the Notification No.-05.00.0000.173.08.006.23-61 dated 11/04/2023 issued by the General Administration Branch, Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, on the above-mentioned subject.

2. In accordance with the aforementioned notification, the Government has declared Thursday, April 20, 2023, as a general holiday on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. Consequently, all financial institutions operating in Bangladesh shall remain closed for a total of four days, including April 20, 2023, and extending to April 21, 22, and 23, 2023, on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

3. The operations of financial institutions during the period following Eid-ul-Fitr shall be conducted according to the following schedule:

Working Days: Sunday to Thursday Office Hours: 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM Weekly Holidays: Friday and Saturday

This order is issued under the powers conferred by Section 18(6) of the Financial Institutions Act, 1993.
