DFIM Circular Letter No. 38: Providing necessary assistance in the Economic Census 2024

Dear Sir,

With reference to the provision of information and necessary assistance in the 'Economic Census 2024' conducted by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

It is informed that, in accordance with the Memorandum No. 52.01.0000.635.18.014.24-3007 dated November 11, 2024, of the Statistics and Information Management Division, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) has initiated the Fourth Economic Census of the country for the year 2024. The data obtained from this census will present a detailed picture of the country's economic situation, which will play a significant role in the new Bangladesh's development.

2. It is mentioned in this regard that the data collection program for the 'Economic Census 2024' will be held nationwide during the period of December 10-26, 2024. Information and data regarding the identification, economic activities, manpower, resources, and basic facilities of all economic units in the country will be collected in this program. Active cooperation from all concerned is essential for the proper implementation of this national important work.

3. In this context, you are hereby instructed to provide information and necessary assistance to the census enumerators in the said program with the aim of conducting the 'Economic Census 2024' smoothly and efficiently.

4. This instruction is issued under the powers conferred by Section 41(2)(d) of the Finance Companies Act, 2023.
