The Central Bank of China prescribes liquid reserve requirements for financial institutions, including banks and credit associations, based on New Taiwan dollar-denominated liabilities. These institutions must maintain qualified liquid reserve assets, such as treasury bills and government bonds, at levels determined by a liquidity ratio set by the Central Bank in consultation with the Financial Supervisory Commission. Financial institutions are required to calculate their daily average liquid reserve requirements monthly and submit detailed reports to the Central Bank or its mandated banks by the 15th of the following month. The Central Bank audits these reports and may require adjustments or conduct on-site examinations in cases of violation or serious falsification.
