The Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) prescribes rules for rediscounts, temporary advances, and refinancing of secured loans for banks holding deposit reserve accounts. Rediscount limits are set based on deposit scale, with maximum terms of 90 days for industrial and commercial bills and 180 days for agricultural bills. Temporary advances are capped at ten days and a monthly total of ten percent of required reserves, with interest penalties of 1.2 times the published rate for excess amounts or consecutive monthly usage. Refinancing of secured loans is limited to specific government-approved, monetary policy-compliant, emergency, or COVID-19 affected loans, with terms not exceeding 360 days.
