DMD Circular No. 01 Closing of all activities regarding Tk 10/- & Tk 50/- Bangladesh Prize Bond

Dear Sir,

Regarding the closure of all activities concerning Bangladesh Prize Bonds valued at Tk 10/- and Tk 50/-.

It is informed in this regard that, in accordance with the notification of the Department of Internal Resources, Ministry of Finance, all activities related to the sale/exchange/transaction of Bangladesh Prize Bonds valued at Tk 10/- (Ten) and Tk 50/- (Fifty) have been finally closed and declared inactive effective from January 31, 2015.

  1. Bangladesh Bank or its branches will accept the Tk 10/- (Ten) and Tk 50/- (Fifty) Prize Bonds that were cashed/exchanged between the period prior to January 31, 2015, i.e., up to January 30, 2015, from Scheduled Banks/GPO until February 26, 2015. Bangladesh Bank will pay the exchange value of the cashed/exchanged Tk 10/- (Ten) and Tk 50/- (Fifty) Prize Bonds to the respective Scheduled Banks/GPO by March 31, 2015, in accordance with the prevailing rules of Bangladesh Bank.
