DOS Circular Letter No. 06: Instructions for Conducting Banking Service to prevent the expansion of Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) from 07 February 2022 to 21 February 2022

Bangladesh Bank has extended the validity of instructions for operating banking activities for all scheduled banks in Bangladesh. Originally issued via DOS Circular Letter No. 04 dated 24 January 2022, these instructions, which were set to expire on 06 February 2022, are now extended from 07 February 2022 to 21 February 2022. This extension is in response to the outbreak of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 and the current disease situation in Bangladesh.

Dear Sir, To prevent the spread of Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19), Bangladesh Bank issued certain instructions regarding the operation of banking activities until 06 February 2022 through DOS Circular Letter No. 04 dated 24 January 2022. In light of the Cabinet Division's Memo No: 04.00.0000.514.16.001.21.143 dated 03 February 2022, and considering the outbreak of the new variant Omicron of Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) and the current situation of the disease in Bangladesh, the timeframe for all instructions provided by Bangladesh Bank in DOS Circular Letter No. 04 dated 24 January 2022 for conducting banking activities has been extended from 07 February 2022 to 21 February 2022.
