All scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh are advised to close any bank branch or sub-branch located in establishments designated as polling stations or for electoral activities within the relevant electoral areas on 07 February 2022. This measure is for the elections of 138 Union Parishads. Banks must also provide opportunities for their voter employees working in branches and sub-branches within these electoral areas to exercise their voting rights, as per a Ministry of Public Administration notification dated 30 January 2022.

Subject: Regarding taking necessary measures to close bank branches/sub-branches located in establishments used as polling stations in the relevant electoral areas and to facilitate the exercise of voting rights by voter employees on the occasion of the elections of 138 Union Parishads on 07 February 2022. Dear Sir, On the occasion of the elections of 138 Union Parishads as mentioned in the Ministry of Public Administration's notification number-05.00.0000.173.08.002.18-25 dated 30 January 2022 (notification attached), it is advised to close any bank branch/sub-branch located in establishments designated as polling stations or for electoral activities within the electoral areas on 07 February 2022, the day of voting, and to provide opportunities for voter employees working in your bank's branches/sub-branches within the relevant electoral areas to exercise their voting rights.
