The Department of Off-Site Supervision of the Bangladesh Bank directs all scheduled banks to keep branches in Dhaka, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Baluka, Narayanganj, and Chittagong open on April 29 and 30, 2022, for the payment of wages, bonuses, and allowances to garment industry workers and for the sale of export bills. The clearing system of the Bangladesh Bank will remain open on these days, but banks are prohibited from accepting checks from branches located outside the specified areas to ensure smooth operation.

Regarding the request to keep Bangladesh Bank's relevant branches of scheduled banks open on April 29 and 30, 2022, for the payment of wages, bonuses, and other allowances to workers/employees/clerks working in the ready-made garments industry and for the purchase of export bills on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
Dear Sir,
In order to facilitate the sale of export bills and the payment of wages, bonuses, and other allowances to workers/employees/clerks working in the ready-made garments industry before the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, instructions are hereby given to take necessary measures to keep the relevant branches of scheduled banks located in Dhaka Metropolitan City, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Baluka, Narayanganj, and Chittagong open on April 29 and 30, 2022, in accordance with the schedule mentioned in DOS Circular Letter No. 10 dated March 30, 2022, subject to ensuring adequate security.
