Scheduled banks must close all branches in specified electoral areas on Monday, 19 May 2014, to facilitate the sixth phase of elections for 12 Upazila Parishads and a by-election in Mymensingh, and on Wednesday, 21 May 2014, for the Boalkhali Pourashava election in Chittagong. This closure is mandated to allow bank employees and managers to exercise their voting rights and support the election process in the respective constituencies listed in the appendices.

Dear Sir,
Subject: Closing of Scheduled Bank branches on 19/05/2014 & 21/05/2014 due to Upazila Parishad & Poroshaba Election
In reference to the letters No. 05.00.0000.173.08.004.11-116 and No. 05.00.0000.173.08.001.12-117 dated 15/05/2014 of the Ministry of Public Administration, general holidays have been declared in the relevant electoral areas according to the schedule below, in connection with the sixth phase of the fourth Upazila Parishad elections for 12 Upazila Parishads, the by-election for the vacant Chairman seat of the Tarakanda Upazila Parishad in Mymensingh District, and the election of the Boalkhali Pourashava in Boalkhali Upazela, Chittagong District.
Accordingly, to facilitate the exercise of voting rights by bank officials/managers and the voting process, all branches of Scheduled Banks located in the relevant electoral areas (as per the Appendix) will remain closed.
