The Department of Off-Site Supervision advises all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to provide swift and smooth banking services to ensure the timely payment of wages and allowances to garment and other factory workers ahead of the Eid-Ul Azha holiday. This directive is issued in accordance with Decision No. 07 (Miscellaneous-C) from a meeting held by the Ministry of Home Affairs on September 13, 2015, which also addressed industrial law and order. Banks are instructed to facilitate these payments and manage Letter of Credit (LC) operations effectively during this period.

Context regarding ensuring swift and smooth banking services for the payment of wages and allowances to workers in the ready-made garment industry on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-Ul Azha
In accordance with Decision No. 07 (Miscellaneous-C) (Reference No. 44.00.0000.079.10.001.2013-299-Copy Attached) of the minutes of the meeting held by the Ministry of Home Affairs on September 13, 2015, regarding the timely payment of wages and allowances to garment workers on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-Ul Azha, as well as the maintenance of industrial law and order and related matters, advice is hereby given to you to ensure swift and smooth banking services by various banks located in the industrial areas for the payment of wages and allowances to workers of garments and other factories ahead of Eid-Ul Azha, and for the operation of LC programs, etc.
