DOS Circular Letter No. 18: Keeping Schedule Bank Branches Closed in Election Areas on 7th August 2016
Schedule banks must keep all branches closed in the specified election areas on Sunday, 7 August 2016, to facilitate voting for the general elections of eight upazila municipalities and the by-election for the Mayor of Naria Upazila in Shariatpur District. The closure applies to branches located in the election areas of Ghoda Ghata, Domar, Galachipa, Lohagada, Ghatail, Sonatala, Bogura, and Pirojpur as listed in the circular. This directive is issued in response to a memorandum from the Ministry of Public Administration regarding the Election Commission's announcement.

Dear Sir,
Subject: Context of keeping Schedule Bank branches closed in the election area on 7th August 2016 for the occasion of general elections of 08 (eight) Upazila municipalities and by-election for the post of Mayor in Naria Upaz of Shariatpur District.
In this regard, in light of the memorandum dated 04/08/2016 AD from the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Law-4 Branch, Reference No. 05.00.0000.173.08.001.12-186, the Election Commission has announced the general elections of the following 08 Upazila municipalities and the by-election for the post of Mayor in Naria Upazila of Shariatpur District. To facilitate the exercise of voting rights by officials/employees and to ensure the convenience of voting, all branches of Schedule Banks located in the election areas mentioned below will remain closed on Sunday, 07 August 2016.
